God doesn’t give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED-to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you, and to make you into the person you were meant to be.

I just finished reading a terrible book but there was a part where she’s talking about even though we know dogs can’t be our lifetime companions, we love them with all that we have and cherish each day like it is our last. Even though we know going into it that their death will be incredibly painful for us. I believe it builds humility and compassion.
